I have sat down to blog about our upcoming trip to France and for some reason Jetpack has not saved what I wrote, or if it did it has hidden it someplace unknown to me. So here goes again for the third time. Some say third time’s a charm!
We are moving to France for six months starting in September. We have this incredible opportunity and we are taking it! It is one of our bucket items to go live in France for longer than 3 weeks or a month. So we are going for it. I have read so many books about other people who have done this and am very excited. I realize it is not going to be like a vacation because we will just be living there instead of here, doing some of the same work we remotely do. It is though, a chance to unplug from the everyday life of Colorado and be immersed in a totally different culture.
France has always been special to us, with its beauty, food, and friendly people. As we count down to our stay, we feel more and more excited. This trip is not just a vacation. It’s a chance to live like a local, enjoy simple things, and find the hidden spots that make France so loved.
We do of course have a list of must-do’s while there. For example, Monet’s Giverny is the first on my list. My husband has some other things he wants to do and see. I also have never been to Brittany and had the indulgence of eating crepes from the place they were created.

We have many things to do and organize before this trip. Getting a Visa started was done. Deciding what to pack. We have to figure out Internet because as of now, there is none at the place we are renting. That is huge for us because both of us work remotely. But, that will happen. We will either rent or lease a car. Probably lease. It is cheaper. Right now France is promoting French made cars, like Peugeot, Citroën, and Renaut and are having a blue light special on them if you desire to lease.
One of the things about living in Colorado is that the culture is to always be doing something. This is not a bad thing, but to be able to have a rest from the competition of the hamster wheel going faster and faster will be so nice. We do live in a small community which is kind of like living in a fish bowl where everyone watches what you do. I need a rest.
We have also been remodeling our kitchen ourselves all Summer and that has been exhausting. It is nearly finished.
We had an emergency trip to England for a family funeral on my husband’s side of the family, so it has been a super busy time.
I am hoping to have a blog specifically about our move to France and all that entails. Please stay tuned for more! Thank you for reading my blog!
À bientôt et Merci !
