Living the Dream

By

What were your parents doing at your age?

My parent’s were both retired and enjoying life they had worked hard for. Unbeknownst to them, they were living their last twenty years on earth. They had built a new log house on one hundred acres of wooded land. They always were growing vegetables and flowers!

My momma was an avid quilter and spent most days dreaming about her next project. My father had lots of hobbies including amateur radio, old car repair, gardening and designing websites.

They were always busy and stayed very social. They had groups they belonged to and participated in various activities.

They had many friends and still traveled into their late sixties and early seventies. In fact, we had a planned trip to take them across the pond on the Queen Mary 2. Unfortunately we had to cancel due to my mother’s deteriorating health.

My mom had heart failure and in the end she died after surgery to her neck. Her heart just wasn’t strong enough.

My father was always busy up to her death but he died of liver failure only six months after mom died. I think it broke his heart to lose her and he just didn’t want to live any longer.

Thank you for reading!

Tschüss! Ich liebe dich 😊

Your parents seemed to enjoy life before they died, and their hard work paid off. Their log house is stunning. I’m so sorry for them passing away. Sending hugs, momsthoughts
