I have never been a protester type of person. I have long been one to go along with the flow. This is about to change. I believe we are in the midst of great terrible change in America. We have a narcissistic hateful man in charge of the government. He is doing some great harm and not only to the USA. No longer can we sit and just wait it out.
I am participating in the widely advertised April 5th protest day. I live in a remote part of Colorado. We will be out there tomorrow with our signs, flags, and perhaps masks. It may snow, it may rain, but we will be there. Peacefully protesting what is happening.
I believe this is bigger than the North America in which I live. We have insulted all of our allies. (By we I mean the American Government representatives). It is not really “we”. It is them. They are a cult group who came into power due to a weird propaganda machine and money. Billionaires who donated to his cult will shortly I believe be feeling it in their loss.
There is so much damage happening in all areas of our lives. The current administration has defunded many health-related agencies. These include cancer research and Telehealth programs. The goal of Telehealth was to improve access and enhance various areas of research.
Medicare for all is one of Bernie Sanders platforms that I totally agree with. There is so much uncertainty for many regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. Not to mention the rising balloon of inflation and cost of living. I am a registered nurse and worked on a volunteer medical clinic van for underserved communities.
I learned about so many young families, single mothers, and persons who needed healthcare but had no access to it.
I am also one of those. I have no insurance. Working nurses only have full benefits if they pay lots of money monthly to insurance companies. I am no longer employed and choose not to pay for expensive insurance. That is my choice. But I believe everyone has a right to healthcare. Proper healthcare. See a doctor. Have a mole looked at. Have your eyes examined. Get your teeth cleaned.
Have any of you ever felt so passionate about something? Did you write a letter, protest in a crowd, or stick a sign in your yard? I would love to hear what you did.
We are all in the global community! We have to uphold one another and love whom is in front of us.
